Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE:

Community Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient psychiatric services to a diverse population in Rutland County. Must enjoy working with a dedicated team of highly motivated professionals who are committed to providing an integrative, community-based approach to care.

You will be involved in diagnosing, treatment and prevention of behavioral health disorders. Our medical staff work with a team of case managers, therapists and support staff to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical and/or psychological condition.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Make diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical or psychological examination. Document patient/provider interactions according to Medical Staff policies and procedures.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
  • Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or medical procedures.
  • May supervise and coordinate activities of technicians and technical assistants, or provide appropriate coverage in other areas.
  • Communicate with referral sources.
  • Other duties as necessary to support the operation of an outpatient psychology clinic.
  • Facilitate referral to alternative or additional providers as clinically appropriate.
  • Provide 26 hours of direct, billable services per week per full-time FTE


SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must be APRN-BC, and State Licensed.
  • 1-2 Years Experience
