Job SummaryMohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Behavioral Health team in the Emergency Department. This full-time, hospital-employed overnight position plays a critical role in the assessment, stabilization, and triage of patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. This role is fast-paced, autonomous, and deeply impactful, offering the opportunity to serve a high-need population during critical moments of care. Core Job Responsibilities- Based in the Emergency Department providing frontline psychiatric evaluations
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis intervention
- Determine appropriate level of care
- Collaborate with ED physicians, psychiatric teams, social workers, and community agencies
- Coordinate care and admissions to inpatient psychiatric unit when necessary
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate quality in documentation
- Must be on site
- Must have MHNP Certification
Education/Experience RequirementsREQUIRED: - Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
- Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
- Familiar with EHR/EMR software.
Licensure/Certification RequirementsREQUIRED: - Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
PREFERRED:- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
