Job DescriptionFamily DescriptionSupply (SU) covers the configuration, demand, and supply planning, order management, sourcing, production, delivery, and managing the procurement activities towards our suppliers.
Subfamily DescriptionProcurement (PRO) associates with specifying procurement demands, selecting and contracting suppliers, maintaining the relationship to a supplier, and managing the lifecycle; including supplier performance, risk, and phase-out for all suppliers for direct material, services, and indirect material.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include the following:- Work with R&D, NPI purchasing and program managers to assist in the procurement of materials for prototype product developments.
- Procure mechanical and electrical components to support Prototype projects.
- Provide material order status
- Procure test equipment, software and other materials/services to support Hardware development
Engineering activities- Monitor and track prototype material receipts and maintain order and delivery records by project
- With intimate knowledge of the purchasing system and processes, resolve purchase order and payment issues
- Sell and transfer excess material to Production contract manufacturers, as needed
- Support R&D engineers in identifying and vetting new suppliers
- Manage incoming prototype material ensuring proper disposition of received material
- Support prototype technical purchasing and program management activities
- Responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on all aspects of prototype material receipts.
- Work with local change management control on material revisions and support change documentation.
- Requires a very flexible attitude and willingness to work on a broad spectrum of engineering build, material management and change control issues.
QualificationsKnowledge & Experience- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Candidates with Bachelor's in CS, EE, will be more relevant.
- 5+ years of project-related experience in NPI supply chain management.
- Proficient with MS Office tools, especially Excel/Access.
- In-depth knowledge of SMA methods, hardware assembly, and factory test processes.
- Previous experience with PDM tools is an asset.
- Working knowledge of electronics hardware design concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent organization skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve individual and group goals.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and deliver success.
- Knowledge of the Nokia NI product line is an asset.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical (mechanical and electrical) drawings, schematics, BOM's etc.
