Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Project Sourcing Manager–Exteriors to join our Procurement Organization. The Project Sourcing Manager-Exteriors will work cross functionally within International interfacing with engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, aftersales, and supply chain.

 

As Project Sourcing Manager-Exteriors you will be responsible for sourcing all new programs, according to the category sourcing strategy, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating agreements. This role will also support project management for supplier resourcing and other supplier projects.

 

This person's key activities include leading strategic sourcing activities, supplier contract negotiations, executing commercial agreements, identifying cost reduction opportunities, project management, and overall supplier performance management.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for new programs sourcing in coordination with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, other Traton Brands, etc.), aligned with program budget and timing.
  • Participate in concept reviews, provide feedback to enable competitive sourcing of products.
  • Issue RFIs, RFQs and RFPs in alignment with the category strategy.
  • Follow up with suppliers, negotiate costs to achieve best overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), develop TCO documents and get cross-functional alignment.
  • Engaged with Scania/MAN for alignment on common Traton Group business strategy for T2 components.
  • Prepare and present to sourcing committees to gain all required approvals in accordance with International and Traton sourcing requirement.
  • Facilitate communication between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues.
  • Support VA/VE efforts to generate cost optimization ideas.
  • Identify supply risk, promote and implement dual sourcing.
  • Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers.
  • Execute legal agreements such as Comprehensive Supply Agreements and Development Agreements.

 

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

  • Master's degree and at least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
Additional Requirements
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
