Project Site Manager

Role Overview

The Mitsubishi Power Site Manager (or designated Lead Technical Field Advisor) serves as the senior onsite representative responsible for overseeing Mitsubishi Power's scope execution throughout project installation, commissioning, and turnover. Reporting to the Mitsubishi Power Project Manager and Construction/Commissioning Management, this role provides full-time site leadership focused on safety, contractual compliance, technical advisory support, and protection of Mitsubishi Power-supplied equipment and systems.

The Site Manager acts as the first line of defense in safeguarding Mitsubishi Power's commercial, technical, and safety interests at the project site. This includes proactive identification and documentation of EPC performance issues, potential claims, schedule impacts, and liquidated damages exposure; coordination of technical field advisory resources; and close interface with EPCs, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project execution. This is an advisory-only role with no hands-on installation or operation responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Mitsubishi Power's senior on-site representative, ensuring alignment with contractual responsibilities, safety expectations, and execution standards.
  • Enforce compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations for Mitsubishi Power personnel, contractors, and vendors; ensure prompt reporting and resolution of injuries, incidents, and near misses.
  • Protect Mitsubishi Power-supplied equipment and systems from improper handling, installation, operation, or damage by EPCs or third parties.
  • Lead the identification, documentation, and resolution of equipment supply issues, including OS&D, delivery, installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning interfaces.
  • Proactively identify, document, and support mitigation of potential EPC claims related to Mitsubishi Power scope, including schedule delays, LD exposure, and installation impacts.
  • Maintain detailed site records (logs, photographs, status reports) supporting Mitsubishi Power's contractual position and claim defense.
  • Supervise and support the TFA site team, ensuring adherence to safety requirements, scope boundaries, performance expectations, and technical quality.
  • Coordinate timely technical responses to EPC RFIs, queries, and site issues in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, project management, and global support teams.
  • Provide technical advisory support for mechanical installation activities, including foundations, base plates, equipment alignment, auxiliary skids, intake/exhaust systems, and high-energy piping.
  • Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, startup, and commissioning readiness, including lube oil flushing, steam blows, inspections, and first-fire preparation.
  • Advise on startup procedures, functional testing, and integration of Mitsubishi Power equipment with balance-of-plant systems.
  • Monitor and report EPC performance relative to turbine supply agreement requirements to Mitsubishi Power project and construction management.
  • Review and approve extra work authorizations and back charges within delegated authority; track execution quality and escalate approvals as required.
  • Ensure correct protocols are followed for installation measurements, quality control documentation, and technical records.
  • Support planning, sequencing, erection analysis, and schedule development to enable timely project execution.
  • Assist with insurance coordination and documentation in the event of transportation or site damage.
  • Maintain proficiency in SharePoint workflows, Project Action Requests (PAR), and standard reporting tools.

Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related discipline from an accredited institution required; advanced degree (MBA/MA) a plus. Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in construction, commissioning, power generation, or industrial project execution, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Completion of thirty (30) hours of OSHA safety training or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English required. Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Japanese is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation, contractual language, industry publications, and governmental regulations.
  • Capable of preparing professional reports, correspondence, and procedures, and effectively presenting technical operational information to managers, customers, EPCs, and project stakeholders.
  • Travel extensively (up to approximately 70%) domestically and internationally by land and air. You must possess a valid driver's license and passport.

WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY?
  • Excellent Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision & 401K Matching).
  • Excellent growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Tuition reimbursement and on-the-job training.
  • Paid vacation, sick time and holidays.
  • Committed to quality products and services.
