Job DescriptionIn this role, you are the bridge that connects high-level strategic planning with the tactical, day-to-day execution on the AFTC program ensuring that every technical milestone is met with precision and every resource is optimized for success. The Technical Project Manager oversees and manages the technical aspects of the program and serves as a liaison between the Program Manager and the program execution team (Engineering, Production, and Integration). You are responsible for translating business objectives into actionable technical plans, ensuring that the project remains on track, on budget, and aligned with BAE Systems' rigorous quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning & Execution: works with the Program Manager and team to identify the specific technical and business resources required for success.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Receives direction from the program manager, spearheading the projects execution through the build phases, manages and executes detailed schedules, and prepares comprehensive status reports for leadership.
- Leadership & Guidance: Provides critical technical and analytical guidance to the program manager to overcome engineering hurdles, production challenges, and integration troubleshooting during the build sequence of the program.
- Operational Oversight: Organizes and works with multidisciplinary teams through complex assembly and build sequences, ensuring a seamless transition from design to physical integration.
Required Skills and EducationRequired Proficiencies- Cost Management: Proven ability to manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Schedule Integration: Intermediate-level proficiency in scheduling tools and methodologies to manage critical paths and deliverables.
- Technical Mastery: Deep technical proficiency within the relevant engineering domain to provide credible guidance and oversight.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead diverse teams through the rigors of high-stakes assembly and build phases.
- 10 Years of Project Management experience,
- Business Management, STEM degree
