This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office.

Be involved in projects with our Program and Construction Management Team in Charles County, MD and a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage transportation and roadway capital improvement projects from planning through design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams while serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, regulatory agencies, utilities, consultants, contractors, and public stakeholders.
  • Review consultant deliverables, design documents, cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Manage project procurement activities, including consultant selections, contract negotiations, and change orders.
  • Track project performance using key metrics and provide regular status reports to management.
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely resolution of issues that could impact project delivery.
  • Promote collaboration while maintaining accountability for project objectives.


Who You Are

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation, roadway, streetscape, bridge, or other civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and construction management.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing consultant and contractor performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software, along with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Construction Manager Certification (CCM) preferred.
  • Experience managing municipal, county, or state transportation capital projects.
  • Familiarity with public procurement processes and consultant contract administration.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $100,800 - 133,600/year

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
