Skillforce has teamed up with a construction leader to find a skilled Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Construction to in the Barnstable, MA area.

The Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of water and wastewater construction projects. This position will manage the project from initial planning through completion, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor coordination, project documentation, and client communication.

Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Construction Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from preconstruction through final completion, startup, and turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Partner with field leadership to monitor progress, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor procurement, including scope review, contract negotiations, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
  • Track material and equipment procurement and ensure deliveries align with project needs.
  • Review project costs, revenue projections, pay applications, and financial reports.
  • Identify potential risks and issues early and develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Maintain consistent communication with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Lead or participate in project meetings and provide regular updates regarding schedule, budget, progress, and potential concerns.
  • Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, BIM, MEP, and other internal departments as needed.
  • Support project-specific safety initiatives and ensure field activities meet applicable safety requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and help promote a collaborative project environment.
  • Contribute to process improvements and other company initiatives as assigned.

Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Construction Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Previous experience with water and/or wastewater treatment projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, methods, and project processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, costs, contracts, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with field and office teams.
  • Experience supervising or leading project teams with demonstrated decision-making ability.

Technical Skills and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software such as Procore.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting/cost management systems.
  • Experience with scheduling platforms such as Primavera P6 or similar.
  • OSHA 30 certification required, must be willing to complete upon employment if you do not already have it.
  • LEED, Lean, CPR/First Aid, or similar certifications are a plus.
