Job DescriptionOur British Columbia team serves as a primary design center for major water projects including; potable water treatment, storage reservoirs, pump stations; wastewater treatment plants, and lift stations. Our team is seeking an Project Manager, with a focus on managing water / wastewater infrastructure projects.
Your Key Responsibilities: As part of the British Columbia Water team, you will play a key role in delivering complex municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects that support sustainable and resilient communities. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will lead project planning and execution from pursuit through delivery, while building strong client relationships and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Success in this role requires a combination of technical understanding, project leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for our clients.
- Support the successful delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects by coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and facilitating execution from planning through commissioning.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and successful project delivery.
- Coordinate quality management reviews to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Stantec and client standards.
- Apply sound project management and engineering judgment, proactively identify project risks and issues, and seek guidance when required.
- Communicate technical information effectively with project teams, clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and foster positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, critical thinking, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous learning and client service excellence.
QualificationsEducation and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- A Professional Engineering designation and registration or eligibility to register with EGBC is required. PMP or similar would be an asset.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, primarily focused in project management, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively engage with clients, project teams, regulators, and other stakeholders.
