Full Job Description
Under the direction of the PMO Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing the execution of organizational projects within the pension system, to meet strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery on time and on budget.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and oversee all project work in support of the goals of the project stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings.
  • Develop, manage, and update Project Plan and other project documents (e.g., Communication Plan, Risk Plan, Stakeholder Register, Resource Plan), following standard project management methodology.
  • Manage the execution of the Project Schedule to ensure project scope and applicable milestones are met.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide management oversight of project deliverables, status, budget, risks and concerns through regular status reporting.
  • Promote change readiness and adoption across all stakeholders.
  • Manage project scope across the team to ensure that changes to deliverables are handled appropriately.
  • Proactively identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Lead and oversee development of all deliverables, status reports, and other work products.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels; strong work ethic; driven to achieve deadlines and deliverables; self-motivated; strong planning skills; ability to engage team members and get desired results
  • Ability to resolve conflict for the team and within the team; influencing internal stakeholders
  • Exposure to technical concepts, tools & principles
  • Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project management is preferred

Minimum Requirements:

Pay Range

$92,295.10 - $143,980.00

Compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of each candidate.

As such, full and part-time employees are eligible for the State of Illinois comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental and vision coverage. All employees participate in the TRS retirement pension plan and have the option to contribute to additional State of Illinois deferred compensation plans. The TRS pension plan is a reciprocal system to other state and local pension plans (SERS, SURS, IMRF, etc.)
