This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week from our Northbrook/Chicago, IL, Raleigh, NC or other ULS locations in the US

The Project Manager will work on supporting the team of the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and be responsible for leading transformational projects within Commercial Excellence. These projects will be alongside the Senior Leadership Team of CE, creating a new center of expertise within the business, and impacting CE, as well as external teams within UL Solutions. You will lead efforts of the project to deliver these high impact projects, including process transformation and large-scale IT deliveries. Successful candidates will be ready for a fast-paced environment leading teams through project design, planning, change management, execution and more.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the implementation of small to medium projects.
  • Provides overall leadership and support to project team members.
  • Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.
  • Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly.
  • Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders, and with Finance and develops ROI, IRR and other financial measures.
  • Manages stakeholders' communication and escalates accordingly.
  • Adheres to program and project governance (controls).
  • Plans the overall project and monitors the progress and performs Daily project management throughout the project's life cycle.
  • Manages the projects budget and financial performance.
  • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.
  • Manages and utilizes resources.
  • Aligns the deliverables (outputs) to the project's outcome with the aid of the business change manager.
  • Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sponsor reporting and escalation experience.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
  • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
  • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success


What we offer:
  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
