Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects throughout the Fredericksburg and Richmond, Virginia markets. This position is ideal for a self-sufficient construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can independently manage projects from award through closeout.

This is a remote, territory-based position. Candidates must reside within or near the Fredericksburg/Richmond market and be willing to travel regularly throughout the region based on project needs. While the position is supported by our Glen Burnie, Maryland office, the Project Manager will work remotely and serve as Berlin Steel's primary representative within the assigned territory.

What You'll Do

Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metals construction projects from project turnover through completion

Oversee project financials, scheduling, coordination, subcontractors, RFIs, change orders, and contract compliance

Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection, vendors, and customers to keep projects moving efficiently

Maintain project schedules, track milestones, and proactively resolve issues

Participate in job meetings, site visits, and customer coordination meetings

Support project execution while maintaining quality, safety, and budget expectations

Prepare and manage cost tracking, billing support, and project documentation

What We're Looking For

5-7+ years of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals experience required

Proven experience independently managing construction projects

Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection processes, drawings, sequencing, and field coordination

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight

Experience handling project financials, schedules, subcontractors, and customer communication

Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require

Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience with construction/project management software systems
