Description

Popli Design Group (PDG), a growing multi-disciplined Architecture/Engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Project Architect to join our team.

The Project Manager / Project Architect be responsible for managing the development and production of all architectural aspects of a multi-discipline project and be capable of communicating and coordinating with other disciplines, clients, vendors, and contractor. This position will be responsible for leading teams in work planning, technical solution development, and review ofing architectural documents prior to submission to the client and governing jurisdictions for design and code completeness.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, staff, project managers, and all other employees.
  • Lead assigned architectural or multi-discipline projects and coordinate with internal or external design team members, consultants, clients, contractors and governing agencies.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provide support as necessary.
  • Lead and participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
  • Supervise and lead the preparation of complete project documentation to obtain client approvals and required local and state permits.
  • Understand industry / client standards and possess a strong knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Architects and communicate all project and design team progress.
  • Lead or assist in the determination and coordination of internal project staffing requirements.
  • Select, evaluate, and implement architectural procedures and techniques to complete projects.
  • Coordinate, plan and organize workload assignments.
  • Develop redlines for implementation by assigned architecture staff.
  • Supervise project team to ensure work is being performed efficiently and is coordinated.
  • Mentor and foster the growth / development of PDG junior team staff with regular and focused feedback.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet PDG standards and that documents have been reviewed and coordinated.
  • Record meeting notes and create meeting minutes for issuance.
  • Perform construction administration tasks ensuring contractor work aligns with contract drawings and specifications.
  • Review / respond to RFIs, evaluate shop drawings and submittals, issue supplementary instructions or addenda.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and address issues.
  • Support the preparation of field reports and the identification and resolution of conflicts or deviations.
  • Support the review change order requests and assist in value engineering efforts.
  • Perform construction walkthroughs and verify receipt of close-out documentation.


Required Skills:
  • Technical competence in architecture discipline.
  • Ability to mentor and develop the skills and capabilities of junior team staff.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and NYS Energy Software.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).


Experience, Education, & Certifications:
  • 5-year NAAB Accredited degree or equivalent education and work experience combination.
  • 10+ Years of hands-on design and documentation experience.
  • Professional licensure in the State of New York (or be willing to gain reciprocity within reasonable timeframe)
  • A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.


Good faith salary range is provided, and salary package will be commensurate with experience.
