The Project Manager is responsible for the support of functions related to construction management in the Electrical, Transportation, and Roadway lighting construction industry. The PM assists with the preparation of work plans and applicable specifications and interfaces with and provides general project support to project management professionals to ensure project success.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Fully understand all OSHA and Lumin8 Safety requirements for construction operations.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements including immediate reporting of unsafe conditions and actions.
Review and fully understand all construction plans and contract documents for assigned projects.
Perform detailed project reviews and develop cost at complete financial projections.
Manage short and long term crew scheduling.
Collect Daily job logs and input QTY's for billing.
Review daily documentation for contract changes and extra work.
Manage the change order process with general contractors and owners.
Communicate with and manage subcontractor scheduling.
Perform subcontractor tracking and review completed work, including pay applications.
Attend weekly project and operations meetings.
Create RFI's and update tracking log for communication to field staff.
Progress tracking of work in the field - updates to scheduling for timing and accuracy
Perform daily review of labor and equipment cost.
Assist in procurement, purchase order review, and tracking of material from vendors
Preparation of submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily and weekly reports.
Develop As-Builts documentation as required.
Assist in development of quality procedures and tracking for various projects
Daily use of and interpretation of civil construction drawings.
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in roadway construction for DOT's, cities, and municipalities.
Must be able to read blueprints and civil construction drawings
Proficient working with various software programs such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Spectrum, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel or equivalent.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to deal with conflict in a constructive manner
Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented
Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation and roadway construction.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting from 5 to 50 lbs.
Occasional lifting from 51 lbs.
Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
