Lead Product Definition & Configuration Engineer - Gas TurbinesA Snapshot of Your DayJoin Siemens Energy's 5F Product Engineering team in Orlando and play a critical role in defining, managing, and maintaining the product configuration of our 5000F gas turbine fleet. In this role, you will lead product structure and configuration management activities, approve engineering documentation, and support new unit and modernization initiatives that help customers improve performance, reliability, and operational flexibility.
How You'll Make an Impact- Own and maintain product structures, engine assemblies, and configuration baselines for Siemens Energy's 5000F gas turbine platform.
- Drive configuration control activities and support engineering change management processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Serve as the technical approver for engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and product data, ensuring compliance with design standards and validation of form, fit, and function.
- Develop and maintain engine assembly models, layouts, and longitudinal configurations supporting new units, modernization programs, and service solutions.
- Create and update detailed 2D and 3D engineering models and drawings for large gas turbine components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project teams to ensure successful product implementation and execution.
- Support technical design reviews and communicate technical, schedule, and cost impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in product definition, product configuration, design engineering, or configuration management within gas turbines, power generation equipment, aerospace, turbomachinery, or similar complex engineered products. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered at a higher level, and vice versa.
- Experience managing product structures, Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering change management processes, and configuration control systems.
- Experience developing engine or large assembly models, layouts, and product definitions.
- Proficiency with PLM, ERP, and engineering data management systems such as Teamcenter, SAP, Windchill, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, product structures, material masters, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with NX, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
