OverviewA Project Manager contributes to oversight of the planning, design, and construction of projects within the Gas Services group. Works with team to secure, manage, and deliver projects from new and existing clients. Candidates are expected to have a level of leadership experience, demonstrate ability to understand engineering concepts applicable to the job area, and be interested in continuous learning. Experience in public utility design, natural gas industry, and construction, as well as experience with business management are desired.
Responsibilities
- Manages scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects
- Works with matrixed team to provide tasks and deliverables on time
- Provides clear direction of next steps when needed to project stakeholders
- Monitors KPI’s, critical path, issues management, change management,
- Provides analysis, budget forecasts, and metrics for individual projects
- Primary point of contact for internal/external project stakeholders
- Manages construction, procurement, invoice preparation, and project documentation
- Continuously build and maintain a network of third-party consultants and vendors
- Lead project acquisition efforts including identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with Marketing team in preparing bids and interviews for jobs
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of client and industry standards related to design and construction
- Demonstrate abilities to negotiate solutions to client concerns or project overages
Qualifications
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or relevant technical field, or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of Project Management experience related to Natural Gas replacement, relocation, abandonment, and new pipeline installation projects, or 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Ability to manage project scope, schedule, risks, compliance
- Experience in public utility design and construction
- Experience in managing projects using structured methodologies and established governance frameworks
- Strong skills in MS Office
- Positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- PMP Certification
- Previous experience performing work for a large, regulated utility
- Working knowledge of natural gas pipeline design, construction, and operations standards
- Experience in pipeline integrity assessment methods including in-line inspections, ECDA, robotic in-line inspections and repair methods
Metrics/Other:
- Evaluation is based, in part on the timely, accurate completion of work and project executionProject related travel may be required
The pay range for this California position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
