Job DescriptionProject Manager IISUMMARY Mortenson is seeking a seasoned
Project Manager II to provide overall leadership and direction for construction projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, timeliness, and financial performance. This role requires a proactive, adaptable leader who can mentor teams, manage complex projects, and build strong client relationships through excellent service and communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead project execution from design through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
- Prepare proposals, support pursuit presentations, and participate in contract negotiations
- Develop and maintain accurate project financials, including projections, billing, and cost control
- Allocate project estimates into financial systems and manage cost codes and invoicing
- Oversee subcontractor and supplier selection, contract buyouts, and billing
- Manage and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, including performance feedback and development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and on-site representatives, resolving concerns and fostering long-term relationships
- Manage change orders, ensuring timely submission and approval
- Ensure compliance with Mortenson's safety, quality, and risk management standards
- Promote an inclusive work environment and uphold Mortenson's values and ethical standards
- Provide leadership that supports team collaboration, accountability, and high performance
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of construction management experience on large-scale projects ($20M+)
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen and experience with project budgeting and forecasting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Knowledge of construction law, business practices, and contract management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- Ability to travel overnight up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $132,100 MIN - $198,200 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
