Overview

This role supportshigh-visibility AI and technology programsthat are directly tied to process improvement, business adoption, governance, and measurable value realization. As Mercury continues advancing AI-enabled initiatives across the enterprise, this position will provide the structure and delivery discipline needed to turn emerging capabilities into scalable business outcomes.Throughout the project lifecycle, you will track progress, work with Engineering andProduct counterparts to manage timelines proactively and ensure effective resolution of issues.

Position Summary:The primary job function is to oversee various system projects of a highly complex nature.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$83,670 to $161,815 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$76,064 to $147,104 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$68,457 to $132,394 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

In CA: Typical hiring range is $110,468.25 to $153,428.13

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead project planning, resource allocation, andmonitoringto ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget,utilizingagile principles.

  • Accountable for delivering technical projects on time, within budget, and with successful outcomes according to businessobjectives.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans encompassingscopemanagement, deliverables, milestones, resource management, finance, and quality management, in an agile context.

  • Manage multiple projects/scrum teams simultaneously, ensuring effective adherence to Agile practices.

  • Facilitate backlog grooming sessions with cross-functional teams to ensure clear priorities, understanding, and dependencies before sprint planning.

  • Appropriately engages all organizations to ensure effective adherence to completing PDLC governance.

  • Maintain and prioritize therequirementsbacklog, ensuring alignment with technical and operational needs.

  • Collaborate with Product Management to help drive sprint planning sessions to set development teams up for success in meeting their commitments.

  • Proactively remove impediments for project teams to ensure continuous workflow.

  • Monitor and communicate project health, managing interdependencies, and defining critical milestones.

  • Conduct retrospectives, drive continuous improvements, and share best practices within the organization.

  • Uphold the company's commitment to risk management and data integrity.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Successful completion of a 4- year degree in a directly-related area such as Business Management or Computer Science
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certifications

Experience:

Minimum

  • 5 years of Agile, Scrum, project management, or related experience with a software development team that applied Scrum principles, practices, and theories.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML, generative AI, automation, analytics, or data-driven initiatives.

  • Experience with AI tools or LLM platforms such as Copilot, Claude, OpenAI, or similar solutions.

  • Proficiencywith JiraSoftware, JiraPlansand Confluence.

Skills:

  • Ability to influence without authority, be an effective negotiator, and communicate with various organizational levels, including cross-functionally, at the frontline, and with senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skill used to build relationships and manage conflict within the team and cross-functionally. Well-developed capacity for emotional intelligence.
  • Sufficient understanding of AI systems to ask the right questions, identify risks early, and support informed delivery decisions.
