Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and manage the day-to-day operational aspects of projects from initiation through completion. This role serves as a key liaison between project management, project teams, planning functions, line management, and customers to ensure project objectives are achieved on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The successful candidate will monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, identify and resolve project issues, and support cross-functional teams in delivering products and services that meet customer expectations.

Under general supervision and regular review, the Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operational aspects of a project and serves as the liaison between project leads and executive management in the Electrical Engineering Department. They will continually review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and develops appropriate reports to document progress of the project. This position will participate in the development of mechanisms and tools for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project leads, executive management, and internal customers. This position may include coordination across other engineering departments, program office, flight test facilities, and manufacturing. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain program plans, estimates, schedules, and engineering Statements of Work (SOW); Provides direction and guidance of internal design controls and practices to design or technical staff.
  • Monitor project schedule, timeline, and milestones from project initiation to completion.
  • Create progress reports, proposals, and maintain service agreement across multi-disciplinary teams. Will present to executive management on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate program requirements, specifications, and documentation in support of developing estimates and proposals for new and/or improved part and system designs, and the associated lab, ground, and flight test activities.
  • Ensure implementation of system requirements throughout system development process through the development of project plans and project control of the integration, verification and validation of aircraft systems through flight test.
  • Generate presentations, engineering memos, and prepare test plans/procedures and reports as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain dashboards or summary reports that provide visibility into electrical engineering progress, risks, and issues for project leads and executive management.
  • Track electrical engineering work performance using defined metrics such as: Planned vs. actual hours by task or work package. Schedule adherence to key design and test milestones. Number and aging of open design review action items. Requirements coverage and verification status for electrical subsystems.
  • Ensure that lab, ground, and flight test activities related to electrical systems are planned, scheduled, and resourced, and that test results are captured and linked to requirements verification.
  • Establish and maintain a design review cadence (e.g., internal peer reviews, PDR, CDR) for electrical engineering content; capture, prioritize, and track closure of review action items and associated risks.
  • Coordination of engineering resources as directed by management.
  • May interface with customers and sub-contractors.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals.
  • Multitasking team player with a hands-on approach; experienced in formulating plans to resolve engineering problems.
  • Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staff.
  • May represent organization at technical and programmatic reviews and meetings.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and at least six years of progressively complex experience in project administration. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a good understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Administration and forms using InfoPath.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience is desirable.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
