The purpose of the Project Management Team is to serve as a strong advocate and partner within NJM dedicated to driving the facilitation, planning and successful execution of approved business initiatives so that NJM can achieve its annual objectives, strategic goals and long-term vision.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing one or more projects from startup through closeout and ensuring customer satisfaction. Project Managers need to be very comfortable around technology, be inquisitive, have a problem-solving mindset, and be willing to adapt approach to successfully execute projects.

- Manage one or more independent projects from startup to closeout with some input from senior PMO members.
- Demonstrate accountability with guidance from senior project managers or portfolio managers towards project implementations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate understanding and proficiency of Agile project management techniques and processes.
- Hold self and project team members accountable to deliverables and commitments.
- Demonstrate awareness of project metrics and using metrics towards project discussions.
- Work with Portfolio leadership to deal with dynamic situations and ambiguity.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads for Release and Sprint Planning, brainstorming, etc.
- Demonstrate an analytical mindset and be comfortable working with data.
- Take charge of situations, challenges, and leading the team towards resolution with guidance from senior project managers or portfolio managers.
- Provide direction and day-to-day management of project teams.
- Communicate transparently through status reporting and managing expectations of senior PMO leaders.
- Understand project objectives and ensuring team member commitment towards achieving those objectives.
- Engage in discussions with team members to propose alternative solutions/approaches to address challenges.
- Identifying challenges and risks (not just reporting status) and proactively seek resolution through support from PMO leadership.
- Demonstrate awareness of various risk management strategies.
- Prepare presentations regarding projects and their statuses to small audiences.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge, skills & abilities, experience, minimum & desired education, certification and/or license requirements.
- Minimum 4-year degree or equivalent experience; technical or business background preferred.
- Minimum 5-year work experience in a team setting; willingness to continue working in a team setting.
- Basic understanding of tooling such as Jira, Planview, etc. Very proficient in MS Office (Excel, MS Word) and essential to be able to learn and utilize tooling.
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scaled Agile or Scrum Master experience / certifications preferred Experience with Project budget management preferred.
- Experience and understanding of P&C insurance a big plus.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Pay Range: $104,686-$131,986
