Duties
Lead end-to-end delivery of heavy civil projects, including safety, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction. Lead, mentor, and performance-manage project personnel (Project Engineers, Foremen, crews). Develop proposals, RFQs/RFPs; plan work and sequence using company systems. Own project budgets, cost control, purchasing, subcontracts, and cash-flow projections. Build and maintain resource-leveled schedules; dispatch crews, trucks, and equipment via E-Dispatch. Coordinate design reviews, changes, and estimates with engineers, architects, owners, and subcontractors. Ensure full compliance with NYSDOT specifications, local union CBAs, and prevailing wage requirements. Conduct initial and ongoing safety/hazard assessments for bids and active projects; enforce company SOPs and OSHA rules. Lead subcontractor management: scopes, buy-out, pre-task planning, progress verification, and pay applications. Prepare and negotiate change orders and claims; maintain accurate documentation and reporting. Champion continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies and equipment (e.g., Mecalac). This role is primarily based at the Liverpool, NY office with routine visits to active jobsites. Work may occur in outdoor environments and around heavy equipment. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. 4 years of experience in the construction industry with a proven track record managing complex heavy civil projects. Proficiency with EDispatch and EPrepa. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; strong familiarity with NYSDOT specifications and standards. Knowledge of local/state prevailing wage guidelines and union CBA considerations for bids and execution. Experience with negotiated, lumpsum, and unitprice work; familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software. Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple concurrent worksites. Equipment implementation and optimization experience, including new technologies and Mecalac brand machinery. Advanced skills in project controls, cost/quantity tracking, and production analysis.
Salary
$125,715 per year
