Hours: Full-Time - 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, NY, 11101 Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the open competitive list (exam #5015) or filed for the open-competitive exam #7006 may apply. The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety & Site Support, is seeking a Project Manager within the Office of Construction Safety (OCS). The selected candidate will report to the Deputy Director and be responsible for various aspects of construction safety programs, including support for DDC Infrastructure, Public Buildings, and Alternative Delivery capital construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting contractor safety performance evaluations and performing technical tasks related to construction capital project management and delivery. The candidate will conduct regular field audits to monitor and verify the remediation of safety findings, ensure compliance with Site Safety Plans and applicable safety standards, communicate findings and recommendations to project staff and contractors. Additional duties include preparing safety progress reports, coordinating with other divisions and agencies, monitoring and reporting key performance indicators with a focus on continuous improvement, and routinely preparing and maintaining status reports for capital and MMR projects for Senior Management. This position plays a critical role in strengthening regulatory compliance and supporting the timely and successful delivery of capital construction projects. Additionally, educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.
