Full Job Description
Job description

Job Type: Full-time | Location: Sweetwater, TX | Department: Operations | Reporting to: Senior Project Manager, Campus Logistics USA | Work Location Type: #onsite

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to build and own the full lifecycle of workforce housing and site logistics across IREN's West Texas data center portfolio - forecasting demand, sourcing and procuring real estate and modular housing solutions, standing up and operating lodges for thousands of construction and operations personnel, and managing all vendor relationships, budgets, and regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

Job requirements

  • 8+ years in workforce housing, camp operations, or site logistics on construction, energy, mining, or infrastructure mega projects
  • Direct experience sourcing accommodation solutions - real estate leasing, camp construction/procurement, or third-party operator partnerships - not just running existing facilities
  • Strong commercial negotiation background; comfortable structuring lease and vendor deals independently, including flexible/scalable terms
  • Experience managing multi-hundred to multi-thousand person workforce populations across multiple concurrent sites
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and local/state codes for temporary worker housing
  • Familiarity with small-market real estate dynamics (rural Texas experience a plus)

Job responsibilities

Demand Planning & Sourcing
  • Forecast workforce housing demand by site and phase, partnering with Construction and Project Controls on manpower ramp curves 12-24 months out.
  • Evaluate, source, and negotiate site solutions - motels, modular camps, man-camp operators, or long-term hotel leases - benchmarked against proximity, local market capacity, and cost-per-bed targets.
  • Run RFPs and lead commercial negotiations with property owners, camp operators, and modular housing providers.
Cross-Site Synergies & Commercial Strategy
  • Identify opportunities to share resources, staff, and purchasing across Texas and Oklahoma markets to reduce redundant spend.
  • Structure vendor and landlord agreements with built-in flexibility to expand, contract, or shift between sites as construction schedules evolve.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of all active agreements and recommend standardized modular specs so assets can be redeployed across sites.
Vendor & Contract Management
  • Own all vendor relationships and commercial terms for catering, housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and temporary housing - renegotiating cost-per-bed economics as demand changes.
Operations & Logistics
  • Direct site logistics including worker transport, camp access, parking, and cross-site personnel movement.
  • Ensure all facilities meet OSHA, health department, and fire/life-safety requirements.
  • Build and lead a site-level team across all four campuses.
Financial & Reporting
  • Own the annual accommodation and logistics budget - reporting cost-per-worker-day and deal economics to VP Operations for CAPEX and OPEX approvals.
  • Build business cases and ROI comparisons for major sourcing decisions.
