Full Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager, based out of our Carolinas B+P footprint, to lead delivery of complex manufacturing programs for our Advanced Manufacturing practice. The Advanced Manufacturing Porject Manager will speak the client's industrial language: turn production intent into layout, material flow and a deliverable capital program, then carry it through AECOM's design and design-build teams. Business Sectors include : semiconductor, defense, aerospace, energy and nuclear fuel, battery, robotics, and microprocessors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as Project Manager on manufacturing facility projects of $100 million and above; own scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and client satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary interface between clients and AECOM's design and design-build teams.
• Translate client production intent into actionable layouts, material flows, and deliverable capital projects, applying Lean principles where they add value.
• Lead pursuits, fee and negotiations for design and design-build delivery; Manage subcontractor contracts and scope.
• Manage project financials, including NSR, margin, forecasting, invoicing and change orders.
• Integrate process and equipment requirements with architecture, MEP, process utilities and civil.
• Guide industrial engineering scope (layout, material flow, throughput, automation) with the ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma processes highly desirable.
• Lead and mentor project teams, coordinate Architectural and Engineering disciplines and work-share with AECOM design centers.
• Lead commissioning, start-up and turnover, including tool installation and production ramp.
• Champion safety: embed EHS and constructability in design and uphold AECOM Safety for Life standards on site.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field plus 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years managing design or design-build delivery of manufacturing facilities or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial projects of $100 million or greater
• Demonstrated Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Delivery Experience
• Due to the nature of the job, United States Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
• PMP and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
• Master's degree or MBA
• 15+ years across manufacturing operations and A/E, EPC or Design-Build consulting
• Active A/E licensure (PE or RA); ability to obtain North Carolina and/or South Carolina registration
• Regulated-sector experience (DoD, DOE, NRC, FAA, ITAR) and Federal design-build delivery
• Familiarity with simulation tools (FlexSim, Simio, Plant Simulation) for automation and robotics integration
• Ability to pass client background checks and obtain a security clearance
