THE POSITION
Take the next step forward in your career with the Department of Corrections! As a Project Manager 1, you will help move critical technology projects from ideas to results. This position gives you the opportunity to serve in the Public Safety Information Technology Delivery Center's (PSITDC) Project Management Office, and perform professional and administrative work planning, directing, controlling, and implementing information technology (IT) projects within the PSITDC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports the planning and management of information technology projects for public safety agencies across the Commonwealth. It requires coordination, communication, and leadership in a dynamic environment. As a Project Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:
  • Project Planning: Create and maintain detailed project plans for all phases of assigned projects
  • Scope Management: Define project scope, monitor proposed changes, and document approvals
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify risks and issues, prepare mitigation strategies, and execute contingency actions
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to produce required project documents
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project schedules, track key milestones, and take corrective action when needed
  • Communication Oversight: Develop communications plans and keep staff informed of timelines and expectations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, two days telework per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Business Analyst 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
