Your Role at Baxter
The sustaining engineering project team, in Patient Support Systems (PSS), is responsible for managing and coordinating engineering product design changes for currently released products. We are a team of project leaders and engineers who embrace a collaborative environment to respond to the changing needs of each project and resolve issues to avoid project delays and disruptions for our operations team.
As part of the sustaining engineering project team, you will be responsible for leading design changes for medical device products such as hospital beds and equipment. The projects may be related to design improvements, new compliance requirements, quality improvements, or operations and supply chain support.
What you'll be doing
- Lead cross-functional project teams from planning through implementation. The team may include both internal and external team members.
- Effectively plan and execute projects using project management tools, coach project team members, solve problems, and make decisions for the project
- Lead multiple small to medium projects with limited supervision
- Communicate both up and down the organization to complete projects and provide status updates on the projects.
- Support change control KPI reporting with project reporting
- Create and maintain project schedules
- Assist in tracking and communication of project risks
- Support continuous improvement opportunities and ongoing process improvements within the sustaining engineering project team.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, strongly preferred in engineering/technical field
- 1+ years of project management experience managing projects of various sizes
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, sourcing, operations, quality, regulatory, Marketing, etc.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation) skills
- Ability to travel to customers, suppliers, or other Baxter sites as needed to support project planning and execution.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project priorities and deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Effective time management skills to ensure timely execution of projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Monte Carlo simulation
- Experience with Agile Product Lifecycle Management from Oracle
- Project Management Professional (PMP certification)

The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 to $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
