Full Job Description
The MITRE Army Resilient C2 and Communications Department drives the development of innovative capabilities addressing U.S. Army sponsors' most challenging problems. The Department identifies and pursues innovative solutions through rapidly analyzing, experimenting, prototyping, applying state-of-the-art mission engineering, coupled with deep technical expertise and exquisite operational understanding. The department works across the Army and with industry to mature critical tactical and enterprise C2, network, communications, and cyber capabilities with a focus on accelerating fielded capabilities. A key part of the department's work program is enabling the successful development, experimentation, integration, and fielding of the Army's Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2).

The Resilient C2 and Communications department manages and oversees the activities of a wide range of sponsor projects. These projects are focused on providing capabilities through close collaboration with warfighters, prototyping to demonstrate concepts and refine requirements, exploring commercial and other existing government solutions that can be leveraged, integration of capabilities (e.g., sensors, EW, autonomy, C-UAS), and assisting the Army with applying agile acquisition approaches.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • As the Project Lead, be the primary MITRE interface to Army PM Data, and Army PM Applications within Army CPE C2IN
  • Understand the customers' current and emerging top priority challenges and needs
  • Formulate, propose, and execute innovative and impactful ideas to help solve customer and stakeholder challenges
  • Collaborate closely with industry and government to ensure successful development, testing, and fielding of Data fabrics, Command and Control (C2) solutions, and related software capabilities.
  • Prototype, experiment, and validate novel AI capabilities and software applications including in live, virtual, and constructive environments.
  • Interface with Army units to understand operational needs, assess challenges, and rapidly identify, analyze, and recommend effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure the rapid, timely, and high-quality delivery of technical products, solutions, and capabilities to customers.
  • Build, lead, and mentor 5-15 person teams to achieve program objectives and customer outcomes.
  • Report status, opportunities, and challenges to internal management
  • Manage program budgets while meeting customer outcomes and maintaining technical excellence


Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Proven track record of business development and exceptional customer relationship management
  • Ability to engage and clearly communicate with senior customers
  • Experience leading teams to design, implement, or test data layers and data fabrics for large scale integration
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence capabilities, including agentic AI
  • Experience in software development including Java and/or Python
  • Track record of leading teams to develop, test, and integrate software
  • Active DoW Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an engineering team and a track record of exceptional performance in fast paced environments
  • Familiarity with Army and Joint DoW vehicles, sensors, radios, data sources, data standards, C2 software, hardware, and capability integration
  • Expertise in adjacent areas such as wireless communications, networking, high performance edge computing, and cloud
  • Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Familiarity with containerized and cloud-native application delivery (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of data engineering and pipeline technologies, including Apache NiFi and Apache Kafka
  • Familiarity with one or more military data standards/protocols such as VMF, USMTF, CoT, or Link 16/JREAP.
  • Experience operating in secure government/DoD environments
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with parallel programming, high-performance computing, and benchmarking
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, infrastructure automation tools, and working in air-gapped or classified environments with Iron Bank hardened container images.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
