The Opportunity:

You will serve as a key member of the Project Management team that are responsible for executing modification projects across the Satellite Control Network (SCN) under the DSLM contract. The DSLM program sustains, maintains, and provides critical logistics support for the operational infrastructure that enables secure, reliable, and continuous telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3). This network supports more than 195 satellites spanning the Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil agencies, allied partners, and emerging DTRN programs throughout their lifecycle.

In this role, you will be supporting the project managers and work closely with engineering teams, logistics personnel, subcontractors, and financial analysts. You will be instrumental in maintaining schedule integrity and ensuring financial accuracy.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst to broaden their impact by contributing directly to project coordination and crossfunctional integration.

Responsibilities:
Project Execution Support
 Partner with project managers to coordinate and track progress of assigned SCN modification projects.
 Maintain and update detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project, ensuring tasks, milestones, and dependencies reflect current project status.
 Support project managers in day-to-day administrative and operational activities, helping ensure projects remain on time and within scope.
 Support project managers with Risk mitigation development and tracking
Financial Tracking & Reporting
 Develop, monitor, and update project financial forecasts, including budgets, actuals, estimates to complete (ETC), and variances.
 Prepare monthly financial slide decks and narrative summaries for leadership review.
 Identify, analyze, and report financial variances (VAC, VAR), highlighting areas requiring corrective action.
 Compile, compare, and distribute timecard estimated hours versus actual hours to support labor tracking and project performance assessments.
Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
 Submit purchase requests and coordinate procurement actions for materials, services, and equipment required by the project.
 Reconcile project-related credit card transactions to maintain audit-ready financial records.
 Develop subcontractor Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring detailed scope, timelines, and evaluation criteria are clearly defined.
Reporting & Documentation
 Generate ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by leadership or program management.
 Maintain organized project documentation, ensuring compliance with DoD contracting standards and internal controls.

More About This Role:
This position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It operates in a hybrid work environment requiring onsite presence three days per week. You27ll collaborate with a highly skilled, cross-functional team focused on delivering mission-critical capabilities for national security space operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, ideally with a finance/accounting background in defense-related industry
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as SUMIFS and VLOOKUP
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts such as BAC, EAC, ETC, VAC, and variance management
  • Must be able to analyze project financials, report on variances, trends, and provide recommendations
  • Foundational knowledge of project management principles and scheduling tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams while also managing independent tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
