Full Job Description
We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project Health & Safety Professional to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position based in one of our 45 office locations, with 80% travel across the U.S. to various client sites.

In this field-intensive role, the selected candidate will support health and safety performance on contaminated-site management and environmental-remediation projects across the United States. The candidate will conduct site visits, perform safety audits and assessments, and serve as the onsite safety representative for project teams. This position requires strong field judgment, thorough documentation, and clear communication with employees, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
  • Conduct site visits and perform health and safety audits and assessments for contaminated-site management, environmental-remediation, construction, and related field activities.
  • Serve as the onsite health and safety representative, working collaboratively with project teams, clients, and contractors to promote compliance with applicable requirements and project-specific procedures.
  • Observe field activities, identify potential hazards, communicate findings, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely safety audit reports, field documentation, observations, assessments, and other health and safety records.
  • Communicate health and safety expectations and findings effectively to employees, project managers, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of project-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of contaminated-site management and environmental-remediation activities when evaluating field hazards and appropriate controls.
  • Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments.
  • Provide training, guidance, and informal mentoring to project personnel regarding safe work practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities in the field and during subsequent evaluation.
  • Travel to project sites across the United States for short- and long-term assignments, potentially up to approximately 80% of the time.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of construction related health and safety experience.
  • Hold a Board of Certified Safety Professionals credential, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST).
  • Experience conducting field safety audits, assessments, and site visits and serving as an onsite safety representative.
  • Familiarity with contaminated-site management and environmental-remediation activities.
  • Strong documentation, technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites across the United States for short- and long-term assignments, potentially up to approximately 80% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Skills:
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, traverse or unstable or sloping sites and landscapes, work outside in a range of weather conditions, and have the stamina for moderate physical activity for the majority of field working hours


The salary range for this position in one of our 45 office locations is $80,000-$95,000. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market. This role is eligible to participate in the company's performance-based bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
