DescriptionThe Project Engineer supports the successful delivery of construction projects through project operations, procurement, documentation, and field coordination-working closely with project teams and field leadership to promote safe, efficient, high-quality execution.
This role reports to the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or other assigned supervisor, and works closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and clients throughout the life of a project.
Key Responsibilities- Support project safety initiatives through training, site observations, hazard identification, and compliance activities.
- Support project quality assurance and quality control activities, including pre-installation meetings, inspections, mockups, and first-work reviews.
- Manage assigned submittal and shop drawing processes, and maintain procurement tracking logs to keep materials on schedule.
- Coordinate material deliveries with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
- Maintain accurate project documentation - drawings, specifications, RFIs, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Support project turnover and closeout activities, including punch list documentation and closeout records.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to support communication, resolve issues, and execute assigned scopes of work.
- Assist with logistics planning, field coordination, and daily reporting.
- Build a working understanding of means and methods, constructability, and project execution risk.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Entry-level role - some construction industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management platforms such as Procore, CMiC, and/or Navisworks a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communicator who collaborates well across diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification, or ability to obtain within established company timelines
