PROJECT ENGINEER (Engineer or eit)

This role supports the Project Manager in the successful delivery of civil construction projects by coordinating field engineering activities, overseeing survey execution, and maintaining strong quality control standards. The successful candidate will work closely with field supervision, technical teams, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Engineering & Coordination

  • Support the Project Manager with planning, coordination, and execution of project deliverables
  • Assist with project scheduling, progress tracking, quantities, and reporting
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure alignment with field execution
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Liaise with field supervision, subcontractors, and client representatives to support project progress


Survey & Field Execution

  • Oversee and coordinate the survey department, ensuring accurate layouts, grade checks, and data collection
  • Review survey information and assist field teams with technical interpretation
  • Support construction execution by ensuring drawings and design intent are followed
  • Assist with as-built records and turnover documentation


Quality Control & Technical Compliance

  • Lead and maintain Quality Control (QC) processes, including inspections, testing coordination, and documentation
  • Ensure work complies with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements
  • Support development and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Maintain accurate records for quality, inspection, and project close-out requirements

Work Schedule

  • 5 days on / 2 days off rotation (Monday to Friday)
  • 10-hour workdays
  • Project-based environment supporting field operations


Location: This position will be based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position.
