The City of Auburn Engineering division is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Capital Projects team. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly shape and improve our local community while taking on ownership of a variety of different engineering disciplines. You won't just be filling a position-you'll be driving meaningful projects that touch residents' daily lives. Primary Duties
In this role, you will:

  • Proactively manages the design and construction of assigned capital public works improvement projects.
  • Develop and review capital public works improvement project plans, bid specifications, cost estimates, and contract proposals prepared utilizing in-house resources and/or engineering consultant services.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Service's Contract Administration staff and the Utilities, Traffic, Survey, and Construction Sections, relating to the design and construction of capital public works improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with Federal, State, County, and local governmental agencies, railroads, franchise utility companies, private property owners, various community organizations, and other City departments relating to the design and construction of capital public works improvement projects..

Minimum Qualifications
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR...
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; AND
  • Five (5) years of civil engineering project management experience
OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; AND
  • Professional Civil Engineering License
Engineer In Training DesignationOR Professional Civil Engineering License is required, as is a valid driver's license without impending loss at the time of appointment.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE EXPERIENCE YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR OUR APPRENTICE PROGRAM ($103,276.08 - $126,951.12/annually):
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering; AND
  • Two years of civil engineering project management experience
