Position Location: Tempe, AZ

Position: Project Engineer Sr.

Job Duties:
  1. Executes the project management plan (PMP) including the project scope management plan, procurement plan, environmental plan, time management plan, financial plan, quality management & safety plans, change management process, and risk management plan to ensure successful project execution.
  2. Develops and integrates a procurement schedule alongside the project CPM schedule, coordinates submittals with other trades, and reviews all submittals for compliance with the contract documents.
  3. Review prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase order agreements, and allowance items as well as contract drawings and specifications to ensure the project can be completed within the approved budget.
  4. Compiles close-out requirements for "as-built" contract documents, including operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and other job-specific items required by the specifications.
  5. Prepares and maintains quantity reporting mechanisms, agendas, and minutes for all meetings, as well as maintaining various project logs.
  6. Prepares and reviews change orders, including time extensions, with the appropriate personnel before submittal to the owner.
  7. VARIOUS WORKSITES: Position is based out of Tempe, AZ HQ, but telecommuting is permitted on a case-by-case basis.
    TRAVEL: Unanticipated domestic travel to construction sites in Arizona, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Travel will not exceed 5 trips annually.

Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related.


Experience Requirements:
  • 60 months of experience in job offered, Project Engineer, or closely related.


Special skills requirements:
  1. Experience with overseeing subcontractors performing specialized tasks including pier drilling, HDPE liner and piping installation, concrete coring, tank erection, insulation, heat trace, and underground obstruction detection to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  2. Ability to audit issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and coordinate with design teams to resolve constructability and scheduling challenges, while supporting contract revisions and change management.
  3. Able to use Bluebeam Revu to redline drawings, manage RFIs and submittals, and maintain accurate field documentation to support quality control and design coordination.
  4. Experience with warranty contracts and subcontractors, monitoring warranty-related costs, and delivering project status and cost reports to clients and senior leadership.
  5. Experience with managing construction budgets and forecasts, developing procurement packages, and coordinating with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  6. Knowledge of Primavera P6 and InEight for project scheduling, cost control, and performance tracking.
