Your position We are seeking a structured and skilled Project Engineer to join our Rig & Marine division. In this role, you will play a key part in executing offshore multidisciplinary modification projects on drilling rigs and specialized vessels. You will be part of a global team with more than 100 colleagues worldwide, dedicated to delivering complex projects worldwide with safety as the highest priority. You will report to Nicolaj Frimann, Operations Manager.

The position is full-time and is based at our Houston office, located in the hub of the energy industry. You can expect approximately 40-60 travel days per year, including offshore surveys and on-site project execution.
Your tasks & responsibilitiesAs Project Engineer, you will support the execution of projects in accordance with agreed budgets, schedules, quality standards, and technical requirements. Projects typically involve maintenance and modification work on floating units such as drilling rigs and specialized vessels. The scopes span multiple disciplines and project phases, from engineering and design to procurement, construction, and installation.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and reviewing structural and piping designs, 3D models, drawings, piping layouts, isometrics, and installation work packs
- Ensuring designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project requirements through design reviews, model coordination, and clash detection
- Conducting offshore surveys and site verifications (incl. 3D scanning) to support engineering development and execution planning
- Providing technical input and tracking progress, risks, quality, and costs across projects
- Taking the lead on smaller projects or work packages, including day-to-day coordination
- Working closely with customers and internal teams while ensuring compliance with Semco Maritime standards, processes, and HSE requirements
Your profile & qualificationsTo succeed in this position, we expect that you have:
- A higher technical education, such as a bachelor's degree in mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or a similar engineering discipline
- At least three years of experience in a similar role within the maritime, offshore, or energy sector
- Experience with turnkey integration projects in the oil & gas industry, preferably including knowledge of drilling assets such as drillships, semi-submersibles, and jack-up rigs
- Strong experience with AutoCAD, BricsCAD, CADWorx, SolidWorks, and other relevant engineering and 3D modelling software
- Experience with structural and piping design and the development of engineering deliverables, including fabrication drawings and 3D models
- An understanding of offshore construction, fabrication, and installation practices
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- A valid US work visa, such as a Green Card, or US citizenship
- Availability for offshore and international project travel
Valid offshore credentials are considered an advantage but are not required.
