TheProject Engineeris responsible forutility engineering in distribution and transmission teams. This role incorporatestheutilizationof various drafting and design programs(PLS-CADD/AutoCAD)to ensure that work product deliverable meets client standards and specifications.

 

There are four main groups within thePotelcoEngineering Department: Transmission, Joint Facilities Notification (JFN), Cable Replacement and Maintenance, and Overloaded Transformer Elimination Program (OTEP) where you may use your skills.If the following interests you, we encourage you to apply!

 

This role will pay between $36.00 to $48.00 per hour. Depending on Experience.

 

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

  • Provides electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects. This includestheinterpretation and development of distribution designs congruent with utility standards.
  • Pole lineanalysis on existing or new transmission/distributionstructures in relation to scope of work. Usingpole line analysis toolsto analyze structural integrity of new or existing structures. Using standards and best practices tomaintainclearances from existing structures, as needed.
  • Calculates anddraftsdesigns, which include an understanding of voltage regulation, electrical load calculations, system protection, and fuse coordination for distribution systems.
  • Input of bill of materials for assigned scope of work.
  • Manages the project life cycle using work order management systems.
  • Assistsutility engineering team by performing field visits to gather information, asrequired.
  • Administrative functions and other tasks as needed.
What You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from accredited educational institution OR 4-6 years related experience and/or training in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of power utility industry experience or related field.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and information, journals, technical procedures, and data.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as those commonly found in business transactions.
  • Ability to create and explain financial models and forecasts.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and engineeringprincipals.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD or other CAD software

Compensation RangeThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $36.00/Hr. - USD $48.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
