Full Job Description
HGA is seeking a Project Engineer (New Generation/Capital Projects)in Rayville, LA to support client operations on a large-scale capital project. This role leads and coordinates engineering activities, ensuring all technical deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and company standards. The Project Engineer serves as the link between engineering, construction, and commissioning to deliver a complete, fit-for-purpose facility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables across EPC contractors, Owner's Engineer, and internal teams

  • Review and validate drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance and quality

  • Resolve RFIs, technical queries, and design conflicts with contractors and vendors

  • Support construction with field engineering, constructability, and issue resolution

  • Partner with QA/QC to ensure adherence to design, codes, and contract requirements

  • Evaluate technical impacts of project changes (PCNs) and support risk mitigation efforts

  • Support commissioning and turnover activities, including system readiness and documentation
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related)

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or EPC project environments

  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial or power projects

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and codes

  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and contractors
Preferred Qualifications

  • Combined-cycle or power generation project experience

  • Familiarity with EPC contracting, J.E.D.I., and stage gate processes

  • Experience on large or mega projects

  • Oil & Gas experience with transferable skills

  • Strong team-oriented mindset with ability to work in fast-paced environments
