Full Job Description
The Project Engineer II (Mechanical) is responsible for owning and executing mechanical design work packages for automation and material handling system integration projects. This includes the design and release of mechanical assemblies, layouts, and documentation that align with system requirements, manufacturability, and customer specifications. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and suppliers, on-site validation, and contributing to successful project delivery. This position may also provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Your role in our team
  • You will lead the design and release of mechanical assemblies, layouts, and BOMs within larger system projects
  • You will ensure mechanical designs align with system-level requirements, manufacturability, and cost targets
  • You will perform calculations, tolerance analysis, and design reviews to guarantee reliability of equipment
  • You will collaborate with controls, electrical, and software teams to align system integration
  • You will support FAT, SAT, and commissioning through hands-on troubleshooting and validation
  • You will interface with suppliers, offshore teams, and manufacturing to ensure designs are built and installed successfully
  • You will provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and feedback on future system designs
  • You will travel up 30% to support customer integration projects


Your profile
  • You have obtained a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • You have gained 2-5 years of mechanical design experience in automation, capital equipment, or material handling
  • You have proven ability to deliver mechanical designs that integrate into complex systems on time and to scope
  • You are proficient in 3D CAD modeling and mechanical documentation (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • You are comfortable working on-site to validate and integrate designs in live system environments
  • You know materials, fabrication methods, and GD&T
  • You can independently execute mechanical design tasks within multi-disciplinary projects
  • You have strong communication skills for cross-functional and customer-facing collaboration
