Job Title: Project Engineer I - Cryptologic Operator/Data Link Operator

Location: Greenville, TX

Minimum Clearance Required: TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance with ability to obtain Special Access read-in

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position necessitates an active U.S. Government Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens are not eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.

Travel: Required to operating and vendor locations

This position is responsible for providing management, technical assistance, engineering and logistics support services to US Air Force Program Managers and project engineers during the design, integration, testing, maintenance, logistics support, and field service support on special purpose aircraft and ground mission systems in direct support to USG agencies.

Who You Are and What You Need:

Education, Certifications & Qualifications:
  • Current TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance with ability to obtain Special Access read-in.
  • Current (or able to obtain) FAA Class III Flight Physical.
  • At least 15+ years of combined experience in flight operations, cryptologic operations, and acquisition.
  • At least 6 years of contract execution, management, and flight test experience.
  • Extensive military experience as an aircrew member operating within CONUS and OCONUS.
  • IT Networking experience, understanding of open software architecture, datalink systems, data analysis, tactical comms systems, kuberites, zebrabyte computational technology.
  • ISR experience required.
  • Prior experience as an Airborne Test Director and familiarity with directives governing USAF flight test.

  • Must be world-wide deployable and available for travel up to 120 days per year.
  • Proficient in presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.

What You Will Do:
  • Reviews, analyses, evaluates and makes recommendations on developmental and sustainment issues related to information technology systems with specific emphasis on specialized classified capabilities.
  • Conducts flight tests on developmental, functional, structural and system modification including major aircraft modifications.
  • Conducts T&E for aircraft and mission systems.
  • Monitors technology, analyzes proposals, and evaluates concepts to determine technical feasibility and military applicability of mission systems.
  • Primary technical point of contact for fielded aircraft, ground systems, subsystems and aircraft/ground related mission systems.
  • Maintains currency and qualification requirements as a test director in the assigned aircraft.
  • Advises PMO in the transformation of operational command mission requirements into technical specifications and contractor statements of work.
  • Validates technical specifications for systems/hardware/software against contract requirements.
  • Conducts preliminary and advanced technical design studies supporting the preparation of engineering proposals and the establishment of systems architecture and design.
  • Manages technical aspects of flight testing for mission systems on special-purpose aircraft.
  • Manages emergency orders/quick reaction contracts to remedy time critical issues as they arise from urgent user requirements.
  • Plan/create/execute test plans and mission system testing profiles.
  • Prepare and review contractor bids and future Program investments. Works with industry partners on producing a COA document to aid Gov't PMO in the decision process.
  • Develop and review ISR related ground and aircraft time compliance technical orders.
  • Review and validate user manuals and technical orders, electrical and mechanical engineering designs and make recommendations for changes.
  • Travel to Operating Locations, vendor locations to evaluate mission systems, products and development efforts.
  • Travels to support installation and training of QRC and related products.
  • Develops test and installation plans for emerging QRCs.
  • Perform life cycle management duties for powered and un-powered aircraft and ground generation support equipment.
