Position Purpose:

Project Engineer for the Calcine Disposition Project (CDP) will support the efforts to plan project scope, identify and organize resources, and execute work for the CDP. Responsibilities include applying management and engineering principles to the design, modification, and operation of a test and processing facility at the DOE Idaho Site.

Responsibilities and duties generally include:

- Develop and review project plans and proposals and collaborate with management to determine project objectives.

- Identify project priorities by determining the phases and elements of the project. Calculate time frames and sequence the stages of the project.

- Prepare and manage project budgets, including materials, labor, and other associated costs.

- Coordinate with different teams and professionals, such as contractors, business support services, and engineers to ensure all parties are aligned with the project objectives.

- Identify project risks, including analyzing and managing technical risks.

- Monitor project progress to ensure it is staying on schedule and within budget. Make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.

- Communicate project progress to ICP and DOE management and stakeholders as required or requested through reports and presentations.

- Oversee the troubleshooting and problem-solving process that will address project needs and issues that may impact project success.

- Responsible for organizing and archiving project documentation, including keeping detailed project notes and records.

The Project Engineer will be specifically responsible for developing project-specific documentation (such as schedules, cost estimates, project management and engineering documentation, and compliance strategies). The individual will develop project documentation as required by DOE directives and ICP company standards and procedures. Additionally, work scope will require being directly involved with the project work activities and will require routine field work at the DOE Idaho Site and interactions with management, support organizations, and stakeholders.
