Full Job Description
Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000 (Dependent on experience). This role is also eligible for discretionary performance bonus.

As a Structural Project Engineer within the Construction and Specialty Engineering Team, you will be faced with a variety of challenges that will require you to be a versatile and creative thinker. A strong communicator with a driving passion for what you do, you work directly with our clients to provide cost effective, pragmatic and imaginative solutions. You don't shy away from a challenge and enjoy tackling a new problem. You are comfortable working independently but are also a strong team player, looking to those around you to collaborate and problem solve.

The Construction and Specialty Engineering team in Victoria is a rapidly expanding team with opportunity for advancement as the team continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of secondary elements such as steel stud, glazing, and guardrails
  • Design of seismic restraint for architectural electrical and mechanical components
  • Assist with design of construction engineering such as formwork/falsework, demolition engineering, load reviews, shoring
  • Prepare detailed structural design of custom homes composed of various elements such as wood, concrete, structural steel, and glass
  • Provide construction support to active projects, including answering contractor questions and conducting site visits to review structural work.
  • Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion
  • Ensure quality compliance for your engineering design work by maintaining design/checking notes


Professional Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Civil/Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university - courses in concrete, steel, wood design preferred.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).


EXPERIENCE

  • 7 - 10 years' of structural/construction experience.
  • Experience in a consulting firm environment considered an asset.
  • Experience in the construction industry considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated supervision of 2 or 3 EITs / engineers / technologists considered an asset.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license is required.
