The Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Cost Manager to support the financial performance of current and future construction projects. This role will partner closely with Construction and Project Management teams to provide visibility into project costs, budget performance, forecasting, change management, and financial risk.

What will you do? - Partner closely with Construction Managers and Project Management teams to maintain a clear understanding of project costs, financial exposure, and potential risks.
- Monitor and communicate project budget status, actual expenditures, forecasted costs, scope changes, and overall financial performance.
- Identify cost risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to support proactive financial decision-making.
- Maintain strong cost controls across labor, expenses, subcontractor costs, and other project expenditures.
- Review general contractor cost reports and validate the accuracy and completeness of project financial information.
- Reconcile general contractor actual costs against the GMP, Schedule of Values, approved budgets, and project commitments.
- Manage and support contract administration activities, including retention, terms and conditions, insurance requirements, allowances, contingency, and incentives.
- Track key project financial and contractual documentation, including change orders, invoices, payments, lien releases, and supporting records.
- Coordinate and participate in change control, cost review, and project financial meetings.
- Support the preparation and administration of monthly pay applications.
- Develop and maintain internal project cost reporting packages that provide clear visibility into financial performance and project status.
- Prepare project progress and cost reports for internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures and assist with quarterly and fiscal year-end analysis, forecasting, accruals, and project-status confirmation.
- Support change management processes by tracking cost impacts, approvals, commitments, and forecast adjustments.
- Monitor project performance against approved budget and forecast and escalate material variances or emerging risks.
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure project cost information is complete, current, and audit-ready.
- Support the broader Construction team with cost analysis, reporting, forecasting, and financial planning as needed.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in project cost management, project controls, construction finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with forecasting, cost reporting, change management, accruals, and earned value.
- Strong understanding of construction cost control principles and project financial management.
- Experience reviewing project budgets, cost reports, commitments, invoices, change orders, and forecasts.
- Understanding of GMP structures and Schedules of Values preferred.
- Experience supporting contract administration and change-control processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to identify cost trends, variances, and risks and communicate findings clearly to project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner across Construction, Project Management, Finance, and external project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project-management/project-controls tools preferred.
- Construction, real estate development, mission-critical, or data center experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and accountability across project teams.
- Travel up to 30% based on business and project needs.
