Job Summary
The Project Coordinator supports project planning and controls activities across the project lifecycle. This role partners with project managers and cross-functional teams to maintain project schedules, collect and analyze project data, facilitate project control meetings, and communicate project health and progress. The Project Coordinator helps ensure projects are executed efficiently by monitoring schedules, supporting reporting processes, and maintaining accurate project information within established tools and systems.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to collect project status updates and maintain accurate project schedules.

  • Update and manage project plans using Microsoft Project and related project management tools.

  • Facilitate project controls meetings and communicate project health, schedule performance, and progress updates.

  • Assist with monitoring project timelines, milestones, budgets, and key performance metrics.

  • Support opportunity planning and project forecasting activities through timeline and project review meetings.

  • Analyze project data and prepare reports and presentations for project teams and leadership.

  • Monitor data quality within project systems and support data cleaning and harmonization efforts.

  • Identify project risks, scheduling concerns, and potential impacts to delivery and communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Provide support and training to project teams on project planning, controls processes, and reporting tools.

Degree Requirement

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field; or equivalent project planning/project controls experience.

What You Will Have

  • Tactical/Strategic Planning: Working knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

    • Maintains and updates project schedules to support project execution and delivery objectives.

    • Monitors project progress against established plans and identifies schedule variances.

    • Collaborates with project teams to adjust schedules and support changing business priorities.

  • Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    • Facilitates project control meetings and communicates project status to stakeholders.

    • Creates clear reports, presentations, and project updates to support decision-making.

    • Collaborates with project managers and team members to ensure accurate and timely information sharing.

  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Basic understanding and knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

    • Collects and validates project status, schedule, and performance data from multiple sources.

    • Utilizes project management and reporting tools to analyze and communicate project information.

    • Supports data quality initiatives through data monitoring, cleaning, and reporting activities.

  • Project Management: Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

    • Maintains project schedules and project plans using Microsoft Project and related tools.

    • Assists with project planning activities, including schedule development and progress tracking.

    • Produces project status reports and supports project managers in monitoring project performance.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience supporting projects in a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, or similar project-based environment.

  • Experience coordinating schedules, timelines, deliverables, and project reporting activities.

  • Ability to analyze data and communicate project status to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Online, or similar project scheduling software.

  • Exposure to project controls, project planning, or project coordination practices.

  • Experience facilitating project review, timeline, or project controls meetings.

  • Experience working with Power BI or other reporting and data visualization tools.

  • Knowledge of data quality, data cleaning, and reporting processes.

  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, power generation, or large capital project environments.

Additional Information

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

  • Travel (international/domestic) up to 10% is possible, as business requires.

  • Relocation is NOT available for this position.

  • Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
