Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Control Specialist to provide essential support in managing and coordinating project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting activities. In this role, you will ensure that projects are executed on schedule, within scope, and within established budgets while identifying and mitigating risks. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute directly to the successful execution of critical projects at NSWC Crane. The Project Controls Specialist will support research and development efforts for Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS) programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Track project progress and performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute project reports, including financial health, variances, and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, schedules, and databases to ensure accurate data for decision-making.
  • Support change management processes and assess potential impacts of changes on scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Review and analyze contractor/supplier schedules, cost reports, and invoices to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and ensure project alignment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Four plus years of experience in project controls, project management, or similar roles.
  • Experience tracking program metrics, milestone schedules, and deliverable status for DoD R&D programs.
  • Proficiency with EVMS-aligned project tracking tools and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare monthly status review packages and performance dashboards for Government review.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software).
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and forecasting principles.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with risk management and change management methodologies.
  • Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree
  • Familiarity with C-UxS or layered sensor/defeat systems, and requirements development.
  • Certification in project management or controls (e.g., PMP, CAPM, CCP).
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling or data analytics.
  • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Compensation Details:

$80,000 - $130,000
