Summary

About the Position: Responsible for directing complex engineering and construction projects by planning timelines, managing budgets, and serving as the primary liaison for stakeholders and government agencies. Additionally, the role involves compiling project data, tracking execution progress, and developing local status reports to ensure accurate tracking and communication across all leadership levels.

Duties

Help

• Coordinates the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental restoration, etc., for engineering projects.
• Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from project initiation to close-out Allocates project funds to district elements, consistent with progress attained, and measures and monitors performance.
• Serves as the District's primary point of contact for projects assigned with sponsor/customer; Federal, state, and local government agencies, Congressional interests; other external organizations; and higher authorities.
• Prepares documentation of scope, schedule and budget expectations and development of a comprehensive management plan that integrates all project requirements into a coordinated and cohesive response.
• Collects project execution data from the project delivery team and develops local reports and procedures.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate the lifecycle of an engineering or construction project; 2) Applying project management principles to monitor project scope, schedules, and costs; and 3) Analyzing project-related issues, technical complexities, or regulatory requirements to recommend solutions to project leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
