Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Project Lead or designate, The Project Analyst is responsible for implementing projects within the strategic plan, specific project management duties, project fiscal tracking and management, workflow and business analysis and coordinating small and large work teams of internal staff and external consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a degree in Health Information Sciences, Commerce, Business Administration, or Computer Science and five years recent experience in project management, system analysis, design programming, and the use of a formal systems delivery methodology.

The Project Analyst - Devices supports the coordination and tracking of device deployment activities for the Quw'utsun Valley Hospital (QVH) project. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment inventories and room assignments, coordinating receiving and installation activities, tracking deployment progress, monitoring site readiness, managing issues and status reporting, and completing quality checks to ensure devices and software are installed and functioning as expected. Working closely with the Project Manager and project teams, this role helps ensure devices are delivered, installed, and ready for use. The position does not involve repairing or configuring equipment; however, it does require frequent movement throughout the hospital to verify installations, track deployment progress, conduct quality checks, and support operational readiness activities. The role will be primarily remote initially; however, beginning in December 2026, full-time on-site presence in Duncan at the new Quw'utsun Valley Hospital will be required to support deployment and operational readiness activities.BC's health system is in the process of transformation. As part of the planned changes, certain IM/IT, Finance, and Supply Chain roles are expected to be in scope for transition to a new provincial shared services organization, BC Shared Health Services. Candidates applying to positions in these areas should be aware that, while the role is currently employed by the Health Authority, it may transition to BC Shared Health Services as part of the first or subsequent implementation phases. The intent of this transition is to support continuity of employment however, details regarding timing, process, and any impacts to employment arrangements will be confirmed as planning progresses. Providing this information at the recruitment stage is intended to ensure transparency about the broader system changes underway and to support informed decision-making by candidates.The salary range for this position is $76,111(min) to $95,138 (midpoint) to $109,409 (max) per annum (based on 1 FTE). Salary placement is between min and midpoint, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
