Job SummaryWe currently have an opportunity for a Construction Management professional to join our Construction Services Group in San Diego, CA. This position primarily supports electrical work for small construction projects, tenant improvements, and facility modifications within active facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage multiple concurrent construction and facility improvement projects from planning through completion while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, contractors, vendors, and internal resources to ensure successful project execution and minimize operational disruptions in occupied facilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal customers, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with company standards, building codes, and applicable regulations.
- Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, EH&S, Security, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including cost estimates, schedules, procurement requests, bid packages, change orders, and project closeout documentation.
- Support contractor selection, bid evaluations, and contract administration; review contractor performance to ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
- Track project costs and provide regular status updates and reports to management.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize schedule and budget impacts.
- Support development of capital improvement projects and facility modifications, and participate in project planning meetings by providing technical recommendations.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company safety requirements and established construction practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications- Typically requires an associate's degree or equivalent with five or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects.
- Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and project management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, if required.
- Ability to travel between sites throughout the Poway campus as required to support project activities.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience managing construction projects in manufacturing, aerospace, laboratory, research, or government facilities.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building infrastructure systems.
- Experience working in occupied facilities while maintaining continuous operations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar project management software.
- OSHA 30 certification and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
