Full Job Description
The Role

As a Project Accountant at AMS, you're the financial thread that runs through every project we deliver. Out of our Schererville, IN facility, reporting to the Corporate Controller, you'll work closely with team members throughout the organization to effectively support the accounting function and financial reporting process from project open through completion.

You'll generate customer invoices, lien waivers, and billing paperwork, open new jobs in the accounting system, and attend project manager meetings to assist with financial reporting. The role also includes coding and data entry of subcontract invoices, issuing Certificates of Insurance, and functioning as a liaison between accounting personnel and others within the organization. What You'll Own

  • Generate customer invoices, lien waivers, and other related billing paperwork as requested by project managers and client service representatives.
  • Issue Certificates of Insurance as requested.
  • Open new jobs in the accounting system and provide financial assistance through project completion.
  • Attend project manager meetings and assist with financial reporting.
  • Code and enter subcontract invoices into the accounting system.
  • Function as a liaison between accounting personnel and others within the organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities reasonable and consistent with the position as assigned.


What You Bring

Required
  • High school diploma, GED, associate's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Positive disposition with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the position, with self-motivation and a desire to assume more responsibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Construction industry experience.


Preferred
  • Entry-level accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience with Spectrum or proprietary financial software.


$75-$90K Base • DOE
