Full Job Description
Principal Program Scheduler to support our Engineering & Advanced Hypersonics Division within the Kinetic Effects Business Area of the Leidos Defense Sector Organization.

In this dynamic role, you will serve as a principal scheduling authority entrusted by program leadership to develop and manage the Integrated Master Schedule, drive effective scheduling solutions, and maintain alignment among technical execution, resources, risks, and overall program objectives. This role is ideal for a scheduling professional who excels in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and wants to apply their expertise to programs that support our national defense.

The Principal Program Scheduler will be an integral part of the larger enterprise-wide Leidos Corporate Earned Value Management (EVM) Center of Excellence (COE). The Leidos Corporate EVM COE is a team-leading and executing the core responsibilities of scheduling, planning, EVMS, the associated infrastructure and tools, implementations, training, and surveillance for Leidos.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a scheduling leader, shaping program strategies through advanced scheduling practices.
  • Partner with EVMS team, program managers, IPT Leads, and technical staff to influence decision-making and optimizing program performance.
  • Author and deliver Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Report (IPMDAR), including preparation of schedule, performance, and narrative deliverables that accurately communicate program execution status, schedule performance, critical path, risks, mitigation strategies, and forecasted milestones to Government customers in accordance with contractual reporting requirements.
  • Develop schedule recovery plans and recommend executable mitigation strategies when milestones are at risk.
  • Work Independently with minimal daily oversight.
  • Present schedule insights, risks, and "what-if" scenarios to senior program and customer stakeholders, often shaping contract execution strategies.
  • Provide the "why" - demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate schedule analysis, execution metrics, and overall program understanding through a cost informed scheduling perspective.
  • Build and maintain complex Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) compliant with EIA-748 standards and industry best practices (PASEG, NDIA).
  • Lead the Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA) to quantify risk exposure and create actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Implement program scheduling business rhythms & controls.
  • Develop scheduling artifacts to meet contractual/project requirements.
  • Significant interface with program leadership.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of progressive Aerospace & Defense scheduling experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
  • Recognized expertise in programmatic scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, with proven success leading schedule management on large, complex programs.
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Project and scheduling analytics.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise using Structured Solutions Inc. (SSI) Tools for Microsoft Project
  • Strong command of advanced scheduling practices, including:
    • Schedule status processes
    • Multi Project File Architecture/Environment
    • EVM Reporting & Cost and Schedule Integration
    • 14-Point Analysis and schedule health assessments
    • Critical Path Method (CPM) and float management
    • Schedule execution metrics (BEI, CEI, CPLI, SV, SPI, etc.)
    • Schedule risk modeling and Monte Carlo simulations
    • Baseline change control governance


Preferred Qualifications: .
  • Aerospace / Defense Industry Experience
  • Scheduling Professional (SP) certification
  • Proficiency in MS Project views, filters, and custom reporting
  • Current and active DoD Secret clearance

Pay Range $105,300.00 - $190,350.00
