Job Summary

Provides direction on projects that involve major business initiatives, including business and IT projects. Performs preliminary scoping, evaluation, and feasibility assessments. Selects and facilitates project teams to ensure effective cost management, resourcing capacity, and work efficiency.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Aligns with business partners to maintain a strategic roadmap for assigned programs. Builds relationships with business and IT partners to drive successful execution of program objectives. Serves as a subject matter expert in assigned functional area.
  • Drives the annual strategic planning process. Creates visibility and transparency for strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitates communications and report outs for assigned programs. Manages and facilitates projects within assigned programs. Oversees schedules, budgets, and deliverables associated with the integration of resources and facilities associated with project execution.
  • Works with stakeholders to manage risk, identify issues, and drive decisions critical to program success. Communicates key issues and program status back to stakeholders.
  • Establishes and implements processes, techniques, and procedures for project prioritization, project execution, project templates, reporting, issue resolution, and budget tracking. Ensures existing methods and/or processes promote effective and efficient operations.
  • Provides high-level support, including building decision scenarios and analyzing recommendations for financial and organizational implications. Provides resource planning guidelines, such as cost estimates, resource needs, and budgets.
  • Secures commitments from managers and negotiates resources with contractors and third parties.
  • Manages departmental needs and performs day-to-day supervision of project management associates. Provides leadership, coaching, and training. Develops and executes career progression plans for staff. Develops and manages an operating plan and departmental budget.


Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.


Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field.Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail + consumer background is a plus.
  • 5+ yrs in Project Mgt/Program Mgt experience.
  • Operational/Service improvement experience in Retail/Construction Industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
