Position Overview

 

The Program Manager (PM) will support a large, cross-cutting portfolio of work focused on introducing innovative health products in low- and middle-income countries. The PM will play a central role in managing program operations, coordinating with donors and partners, and ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery across a complex set of workstreams.

 

The PM will also contribute to technical areas including product landscaping, supply-side engagement, and the development of analyses that inform the cluster's market shaping strategy. This role requires strong project management instincts, the ability to build and sustain relationships across levels and functions, and a high degree of initiative and follow-through.

Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Own the operating rhythm of the program, including work planning, milestone tracking, and keeping a distributed team on schedule and on budget
  • Develop and maintain project management tools that effectively track work plans, milestones, and deliverables
  • Manage the production of program deliverables globally and across countries, including donor reports and presentations for external meetings
  • In partnership with CHAI contracts and finance teams, develop and manage contracts with consultants and partners, including coordination of invoicing, reporting, and payments
  • Organize and facilitate high-level calls with partner organizations and lead planning for project meetings and convenings
  • Maintain organized, complete online project documentation and files

Technical and Supply-Side Engagement

  • Support the development of analyses and frameworks to assist in identifying and prioritizing new product opportunities and market shaping interventions
  • Conduct product landscaping as needed to inform CHAI strategy and programs
  • Prepare presentations, briefs, and other materials to support country teams and donor engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, and support identification of new program and funding opportunities
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed
  • Up to 25-40% international travel may be required
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Public Health, or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex programs with multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, set direction, and work independently
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations and in fast-paced, multicultural environments with limited structure
  • Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with program financial management and budgeting
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with global health issues

Advantages
